are three basic costs that we try to cover.
The first of these and the highest priority fund is for all the food and other daily needs for the children.
The second is the school fees for the children. The new school term began on Monday. It will run until the 23rd of December. The total cost for all of fees for all our children is $5115 for this term.
The third fund is for the school that we are building on the orphanage. This is actually the lowest priority but important none-the-less. It a long-term project, and of course a very costly project.
As you can read in Joel’s letter below, we recently ran into a shortage of food for the
children because we needed to buy a large amount of building materials so that we could begin construction of the school. We rarely (almost never) know week-by-week how much money we will have for the next week or two. We simply have to trust God to provide.
When the food runs out, the staff and kids pray and fast. They seek the Lord. Pastor Joel tells the children, “I do not know why God has chosen not to provide food for this day, but it is the path he has chosen for us.”
Praise God that he did provide, and we were able to send last week. The breakdown for the food purchased is below, after Joel’s letter:
Dear Beloved Dad, Mum, Church and friends,
Greetings in the precious name of Jesus our lord and savior, we are humbled once again for your love and help we received for food. We appreciate all blog readers who are sending donations to pastor Don, Vivian and Church. God bless you all, thanks.
Thanks goes to the church in USA church and Kenya for the days food was not in our storage room. Out of 12 days children missed food for 7 days. We were praying and fasting seeking God. We have taught children to seek God in all situations. We thank God for the regular provision even when delay comes. The lesson to remain trusting God more and more in our life is the time to develop our faith grow strong and stronger.
Be of good courage. We thank God for sustaining you and Kenya family. Our prayers are with you all. We are trusting God for the provision. We are looking to him daily to help this work here and supply what we need. We know it needs the hand of God for all that is needed to be accomplished.

We now need to pay a wire transfer fee with every payment, which amounts to $50 each time, but other than that, your donated money will be used only for purchasing food, clothing, schooling, and other necessities of living. We wait until we have $4000-$5000 before we make the bank transfer to make each transfer more economical. Nothing is held back or diverted for any other purpose. Thanks!
