THE LOG CHURCH ORPHANAGE MUSIC VIDEO - PAUL EDMOND

Before Paul became an orphan, his family of Edmond lived in the town of Ngararo, a town that borders the Maasai tribe. Our Kisii community and the Maasai entered into border wars and the Maasai burnt houses of the Kisii and killed many residents of our community who lived at Ngararo border. Paul’s parents were killed during this war, as well as his two siblings.

Paul was a young boy at this time, but he narrowly escaped death and fled to another town away from the border area. But being now alone, he would go most days without food, sleeping wherever he could find a secluded spot.

When the church was doing evangelism in that town, they found Paul lying unconscious. Moved by the Lord to nurture him, they bought him some meals and told him about Jesus. Surprisingly enough, he accepted the Lord Jesus as his personal savior right on the spot!

He requested the church not to leave him helpless in the street. The church decided to bring him into the orphanage and enrolled him into the Rianyakwara primary school into the sixth grade.

Paul is talented in composing songs and he has used his talent to strengthen the orphanage kids spiritually. He wants to be a Pastor after school.

The song is in the local Ekegusii language and says let us worship God, let us serve God.

THE LOG CHURCH ORPHANAGE MUSIC VIDEO: EBENEZER - MUSIC VIDEO BY VIOLET

One of the Biblical words that we have used so often at the orphanage is “Ebenezer” – The Stone of Help. It was a memorial stone set up by Samuel in the Old Testament during a long struggle of his people. He used the word in the sense that God had been their help up to that point.

The work in the orphanage has also been a long-term work, but we have seen God bless in so many ways. To celebrate what God has done, one of our girls, Violet, has made this music video, entitled “Ebenezer.”

When I think of where these kids were seven years ago when we began the orphanage, and where they are now, I also praise God.  "Ebenezer"

The narrator is Pastor Vincent, looking very dapper in a white suit. The video was shot at a fancy hotel in Kisii. Thanks to the hotel for letting these kids make the video there.

Violet’s mother was a Congolese (citizen of Congo). Her name was Naom. She escaped violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, coming to Kenya with her 4-year-old daughter Violet as refugees.

Naom started a new life in Ogembo town, where she secured a job so that she could earned her living to feed and educate her daughter.

It was in the year 2017 December when Naom suddenly went missing! She left for work but then never returned. Violet stayed alone in that rental house for three months until the end of February without her mother coming back. In that room Violet was being supplied food by good Samaritans but rent became a great problem. Finally, the landlord wanted Violet to vacate the room.

The girl was desperate now and by the fact of being homeless went to the street to hustle. At first she tried to continue in school, but her attendance was poor and she had no school fees

As the church was doing house to house evangelism in her area, they heard her story and everyone was moved to hear that Violet wants to attend school despite her challenge with street life!!

After prayer Pastor Joel was encouraged by the Holy Spirit to adopt Violet into the orphanage. We took her to school, where she proved to be a bright girl. She speaks our language Ekegusii very fluently and she is delighted to live with other kids in the orphanage.

Violet sings very well and wants to be a gospel artist after school.

YVONNE KIBIEGO - NOTES FROM THE CHILDREN OF THE LOG CHURCH ORPHANAGE

Halleluiah everyone!  My name is Yvonne Kibiego. By the mercies of God I joined Log Orphanage located here in Kisii – Kenya. This happened when my aunt who raised me from childhood died. I was she who raised me since my biological mother died abandoned and boycotted me intentionally. In fact I became hopeless and helpless and none could volunteer to adopt me and nurture  me until  I was privileged to get a golden chance in this orphanage.

My life here has totally changed and I am very much pleased to send my heartfelt gratitude  to all donors who support to ensure our lives  are save and our basic needs are well cared for. Through the orphanage environment now I have known how to read and write: Also at my age I have received the knowledge of doing house duties such as cleanliness, washing and even cooking.

Sincerely this orphanage has favoured my life very  much otherwise my life could be in a total mess!! Glory to God that now  I am able to see a good future and days  of more opportunities to serve the  purposes of   God in my life and also to help the less fortune in the society in return. Let God is blessings be upon all our donors. Amen

THE LOG CHURCH ORPHANAGE - NEW SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT FOR THE BOYS

In 2016, when I first visited the church in Kenya and saw where the few orphan children that they were caring for were sleeping, I saw a very unhealthy arrangement. The floor on which most kids were sleeping was dirt, and because it was rainy season, it was more like mud. Besides that, since in those conditions, much of the outdoors is used as a toilet, and with many harmful microbes tracked inside, the kids basically were sleeping in filth. Understandably, they were sick much of the time.

It was because of that, when we first began to organize a formal orphanage, a dormitory was the very first project that we undertook. By the grace of God, we were able to construct a very nice building, the girls sleeping on one end, and the boys the other end in a completely separate and divided room of the building. For all these years since that time, the children have had healthy sleeping conditions. As a result, their health has been much better.

But now, we are facing a new challenge in our sleeping arrangements. As the children matured, it became necessary to move the boys out of that building to give the girls more space. The boys now sleep in a completely other building in a room on the property of a church member next to the orphanage.

However, the room is very small – 17ft x 10ft. In this room sleep 25 boys. The sleeping

accommodations may not be as an unhealthy situation as was it when I first visited in 2016, but it is not good.

To step back and take a broader look at the orphanage, you may remember that we are also in the process of building a school building. This building is a very long way from completion, but we do have the walls if the ground floor built, along with the poured cement ceiling.

What I proposed to pastor Joel was that instead of beginning the next story of the planned building, we first finish the ground floor and give the boys a healthy place to sleep. You can see by the photo that the space would be very adequate for this.

I am asking for your prayers about this. We have several projects that we are trying to manage at this time, along with the constant requirement of food and other daily living needs, as well as school costs. Thank You!

THE GIRL NAMED "HAPPINESS." NOTES FROM THE CHILDREN OF THE ORPHANAGE

Hello! I am Happiness Nyabuto. I am one of the form four students (the graduating year of the secondary school) from Log Orphanage in Sengera Kisii-Kenya.

My life here in the orphanage has been wonderfully good! This is the best environment that I have ever lived! It is by the grace of God I found myself in such nice place!!

As a girl child my life was to be in a great danger outside this precious home. By this time the devil could have destroyed my life with bad company, which was the case of many my age in the community who lost hope of life when they were abandoned  or became orphans. Some entered into prostitution, others in drug addiction and others in habits of fighting.

I am sure this is where I could be this time too!! Thanks to the Lord for giving me an opportunity to be in Log Orphanage where I am given good care and all my basic needs are supplied. God bless everyone who works hard to improve our lives here in the Log orphanage Kenya. Amen.

SUNDAY SERVICE AT THE LOG CHURCH - KENYA

Here is a greeting from the Log Church Kenya:

Greetings from Kenya, the church and the orphanage! We are very grateful for the grace of the THEME Eternity service..... “He has made everything appropriate to his time. He has also put eternity in his hearts, but so that man does not discover the work that God has done from the beginning to the end.”

-In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ago

-This is the promise that He Himself made to us: eternal life.

-This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

-That they will not receive many times more in this time and in the century to come, eternal life."

-Simon Peter answered him: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life...” Have a blessed Sunday service!!!!

From me (Don)

One of the things that I loved about the children at the church in Kenya was their recital of the memory verses that they were learning. Like this young boy, before they recited the verse, they always began with the words. “Praise God!” (Amen!). “Praise God again!” (Amen!)

These are actually the only words that I can make out in this short video, apart from the fact that he is saying a verse that he learned from the book of Ephesians, but you have to love it! As the lad said, “Praise God again!” (Amen!)

Maybe you can make out some more words. If so, please tell me what verse he is quoting
