Below is this week’s report from Pastor Joel. He writes of how God has blessed in the past years. We began this orphanage in final months of 2016, and it is wonderful to review all that the Lord has brought to pass in the time since then. I might add to the list that Joel made, that the children also now have a family in the people of the church. The kids feel blessed to be able to be there.
We are beginning with sprinklers for irrigation. The hydroponic system will be a later development, and you will see in Joel’s letter that there is difficulty in getting the equipment for a drip system. It’s another one of those situations where I’d like to be there, because I would like to do some experiments with a simplified system.
Maybe along with my own
hydroponic plot in my own garden this summer, perhaps I will add a drip
irrigation as well.
We’ll see. It all takes time.
Joel’s letter below:
Dear beloved Dad, Mum, Church and
Friends,
Greetings from Kenya family, we thank the almighty God for
the love and everything He has done through you all for the help we receive
from you through Pastor Don and Vivian. We are humbled for the love and grace
for connecting miles away so that the body of Christ be edified. We pray for
you all each day that God will provide and answer the desire of your hearts. Below
are the progress which the money you send has done.
We have the dormitory for the children
We have beds.
Dining hall/study room, kitchen.
We have harvested water, water tanks (one for
domestic use and one in progress for the garden).
We are working on the tower as you can see on the pictures
almost complete but waiting to dry so that can be finished so we can raise the
tank for the garden. The school now have been closed as you can see children
are ready preparing the garden for them plant vegetables see pictures.
We will not also forget that the help we receive from you
has helped majorly for the school fees
and food, we are humbled because we mostly we have food for the children
and also children are on school regularly.
It’s our prayers that you keep praying for us as Kenya Log
church and orphanage as we are experiencing second lock down in main counties
of Kenya, such as Nairobi, Nakuru and others. It is from these places where much
of the food for the country is grown, and now this is a challenge.
In those places they are not allowed even to meet for church
worship, but in our county (Kisii) and others 39 counties we are meeting at
church building worship now it has forced us to arrange chairs even outside of
the church building we request your prayers.
We request your prayers for food, Bibles, chairs, help for
garden project, Beddings, mattresses, Church building debt, school for children
and prayers for expansion of gospel in Kenya to reach more souls for Christ.
Yesterday was in our main town Kisii to inquire of other
types of irrigation, now the said that they are only dealing with sprinklers it
depends on the market. When asked if they can make an order when money is
available, they tried to inquire other types the cost was higher than
sprinklers that we are getting from the warehouse/plumbing dealers that we
visited.
We are also requesting that you keep praying for him to come
and give report from Kenya for you to see the reality of what is happening here
through the help you send. We pray this coming trip you join him in prayer help
and also come with him to witness the work that is doing here which you have
supported welcome Kenya we are humbled to receive you.
God bless you all. Thanks. May God protect you all Psalms 91 be your portion in Jesus name.
Son Joel and Church Leadership.

We now need to pay a wire transfer fee with every payment, which amounts to $50 each time, but other than that, your donated money will be used only for purchasing food, clothing, schooling, and other necessities of living. We wait until we have $4000-$5000 before we make the bank transfer to make each transfer more economical. Nothing is held back or diverted for any other purpose. Thanks!
