KISII REPORT - LETTER FROM PASTOR JOEL

 

Below is this week’s letter from Pastor Joel. Thanks to all who sent in some support for the orphanage. You can see below how the money was used primarily to buy food. I knew that they had been without food for some days, but grateful that the church in Kisii was also able to help out.

 

The kids have one day a week when they are allowed to go to the field of one of the schools for exercise, which mainly would consist of playing soccer (football). However, they have been without a football for some time, so I told Joel that with this money we just sent, they should use part of it to buy one.


Footballs are not cheap there. The first time I was in Kenya we went to the market to buy one and I was surprised that one of the better footballs cost about $50 US. We were able to find what looked like a pretty good one for about half that amount. Last time I went to Kenya I brought one that cost about $5from the closeout isle at one of the stores near our home.

Dear Beloved Dad, Mum, Church and friends,           

Greetings in Jesus name, we thank God for the provision received sent through the friends and readers of the blog post of Pastor Don and Vivian. We are humbled once again for the care you have cared for the Log orphanage Kenya. We request your prayers for the children God to keep caring and providing for them.

 

We thank the church here in Kenya for sending the their food for last week, we have lacked  food only 3 days since the food was over from store, so for 6 days the church was able send some help of bananas, beans and some vegetables to sustain the children may God bless you all for your help. We Thank God for your love and concern for the children in Kenya.

 

Dad we will be sending background of each child as requested. Dad one of my classmate I requested for football agreed to donate it and we will update you as we receive. The children say thanks for your donation. Received Ksh. 404,000 and below is the breakdown of the budget.

The budget was Ksh385, 900

 


Rice=479Kilogram,one kgs=Ksh. 167x479kgs=Ksh.80,000

Maize =558.5kilogram, one kg =Ksh.200 x558.5=111,700.

Beans=400kilogramm,one kgs cost Ksh. 250x400kgs=Ksh. 85,000.

Cooking oil =60itres,one litre cost Ksh. 250x60litres=Ksh.15,000.

Soap 20Kilogram,1kg @150=Ksh.3,000.

Sanitizer 29litres, one litre @ 150=Ksh.4400

Vegetables 160 kgs. 1kgs =Ksh. 160x160kgs=Ksh.25700

Unga ngano/baking flour 143kgs

One kilogram =Ksh.140 x143kgs=Ksh.20,000

Salt 38Kgs=3800

Sugar 156.8kgs 1 kg=ksh.160 x156. 8=Ksh.25100

Blankets @ Ksh. 6300

Transport cost Ksh.5900

 

We had other needs of the children and within the orphanage

Appreciation to workers =Ksh. 4,000 not payment it done once for a time.

Firewood one lorry =Ksh. 14,100 =2 tones

 


We thank God for the provision, now daily consumption of 63 children and workers Ksh. 385900 ÷ Ksh. 19845 =19.4 days. the food budgeted will last as from Monday 14 September Date to  3 October 2020.

Dad the school is still closed and we have not be told when it will be opened but they are on proposing on school reopening we will update on the same.
