Call to Worship
The Bible tells us that God is actually not far from any one of us. Yet, despite the fact that God is near, very many people may spend their lives looking for God but never finding him. It is not because God is hiding himself, but it is because they are looking in an incorrect way.
Today we have come to worship the One who is near to each of us. We have come to know Him as our God, and we gather to worship Him as our Savior and Lord.
Dear God in heaven, we praise you this morning for your presence with us, and we ask you to minister to each of us through your Holy Spirit among us. Enable us to focus our attention and give to you our ears, our minds and our hearts.
Selected Reading – Isaiah 44:6-8
Thus says the LORD, the King and Redeemer of Israel, the LORD of Hosts:
“I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God but Me.
Who then is like Me? Let him say so!
Let him declare his case before Me, since I established an ancient people.
Let him foretell the things to come, and what is to take place.
Do not tremble or fear. Have I not told you and declared it long ago?
You are My witnesses! Is there any God but Me?
There is no other Rock;
I know not one.”
Sovereign God, we confess that we sometimes allow ourselves to be overly influenced by the events and the opinions of the world. The present state of our society and the world can only discourage us, and the opinions of the world are depressing to our souls. Help each one of us to remember that you are our Rock and there is no other. Amen
Words of Assurance
Our time of gathering together as the body of Christ is more important that we may even realize. We all know that the more time we spend with any group of people, the more we are influenced by the manners and beliefs of that group.
As we gather as a church, we gather in the Name of Jesus, and among us is the Holy Spirit. Today as we spend these minutes together, seek to by influenced by God. Seek His ways in your life.

Song of Faith
Scripture Reading: OT – Psalm 117
Praise the LORD, all you nations! Extol Him, all you peoples!
For great is His loving devotion toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.
NT – Ephesians 3:14-21
I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love, will have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and height and depth of the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do so much more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Responsorial Reading (from Psalm 24)
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,
For he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory!

Prayer of Intercession
Our Father, today as we have thought about finding you, it comes to our minds that the path that many have to walk has been a difficult one. Indeed, some are at a particularly difficult place on their path right at this moment.
Please intervene for these people. Help them to know that whatever difficulty that they are facing right now, you are with them at each step and will uphold them.
Give your life-giving touch to those who know no rest or peace in their lives. Sustain those who are paralyzed by fear in the present and who are dismayed in the future. Bless those who are putting great effort into following you, despite the extreme difficulties that they are facing.
We pray for our nation. As we enter into the heavy political campaigning season, we know that the consequences of our future may be more in the balance than ever before. We pray for your guidance.
We ask that you be with the people and orphans of the Log Church of Kenya. Please sustain them by your miraculous hand. Lead them into a closer walk with you, and help them to share the news of your love to all in the area.
Thank you for your gracious answer to all of our prayers.
Thank you Father, for listening to the voices of all of your servants. Amen
Benediction and prayer
